This auction is for a GM/ Delco Remy Idle Stop Solenoid GM part number 1997405 Delco Remy replacement number . This solenoid is for 1968-70 Pontiac GTO Firebird Gran Prix . If you look in the Pontiac parts catalog it list’s the part number 1997405 this is the part your car left the factory with. This solenoid was removed in the early 1970’s when we replaced the carburetor with a Holley Carburetor, the carburetor and solenoid were packed away for almost 50 years. Most solenoids you see for sale are the Delco Remy part 1114423 this is a replacement solenoid This part is in excellent condition no rust ever, front and back boots are soft and pliable, terminal is tight and straight, I checked the solenoid and it functions perfectly. The mounting bracket is in excellent condition and included.
